Jane Jacobs

Jane Jacobs was an Author and Activist, most well known for her criticism of Robert Moses and his many projects in NYC throughout the 1960’s. Her efforts saved many neighborhoods from being demolished for highways, and her approach to urban planning is still studied today.

I was introduced to Jacobs during my time studying and practicing architecture. Years later, after transitioning into design and branding work, I wanted to reconnect the subject matter, but with my new medium. I chose a quote from her book, “The Death and Life of Great American Cities” to bring to life.

This one didn't make the final version

The Typography and Color Pallet come from the actual book. I also implemented two of her sketches.
